Having an Online Presence"All artists need to have an online presence," I said.
"Easy for you to say, Popular Artist™," they said.
"I had to work hard to get 'popular'," I said
"But it's SOOO hhaaaaAAARD," they said
"That's what I just said," I said.
After making my status posts about making an online presence, I figured I'd make a sort of guide. I made a very generic list of things you should do as an artist who wants to get their name out there or "get popular". A lot of people were like, "but I've done all of that". But chances are, you haven't. There's a lot that goes into this and it takes a long ass time. Don't think it's just gonna happen in a month.
So I made a guide based on my own experience and what worked for me (as an illustrator/artist. Some of these tips are more specific than others and some of these will not necessarily work for you. Everyone's different. Keep in mind this is mostly for illustrators/animators/story artists etc. This won't work fo

DeviantART (font) Formatting Guide!Introduction
Did YOU Know that you can use the < font > tag in various custom boxes AND journals?
Well, yes you can! No Premium Membership REQUIRED!
To prove my point, below!
When you're ready to move on, mouse over the "The Tag" section.
Did you enjoy the awesome presentation of the "Test." text above? Here's the source code to that:
<font face="Droid Sans" size="7">Test.</font><font face="Arial" size="3">Test.</font><font face="Tahoma" size="1">Test.</font><font face="Oswald, Droid Sans, Arial" size="5">Test.</font><font face="Brainly, Nunito, Testt, Times New Roman" size="4">Test.</font><font face="Helskini, Klavika, FF Meta, Segoe UI, Tahoma" size="7"><b>LOL!<b></font>
What goes into that is <font> tag is basically the "size" and "face" subtags! If you need more expiation or info, move on below!
deviantART support the so-called "font sizes" in any range from 1 to 7!
365 Day drawing Challenge! So I've decided on doing a 365 day drawing challenge! I've compiled a list of 365 things (adjectives, ideas, verbs, etc.) and I will pick one at random every day. After a year, I will have 365 unique drawings!! I actually started yesterday, and I have to upload the pic. I did #35. If I remember, I will upload every pic I draw.
Update: If you'd like to use this list, please go right ahead and do so! My permission is not necessary, but any comments or credit to me would be greatly appreciated!
Here's my list. I will not be doing them in this order, I'll pick a random one each day. I'm so excited!
1. Draw one of your friends if they were the opposite sex
2. a tragedy
3. Create a new OC and draw their debut
4. a romance
7. draw one of your current OCs as detailed as possible
10. a self portrait
11. an advertisement
12. a collection of stick figures on post it notes (drawn by different friends)
Tutorials and techniquesQuite a lot of people keep asking me for tutorials and to be honest I see no point in creating yet another strip on how to paint skin/clothes/light/carrots/whatever. There are so many of them out there that it would be simply a waste of time to sit and basically copy what's already been told.
Instead, I've decided to make a compilation of different tutorials and charts that I personally use to learn how to paint.
The most important thing you need to learn even before starting to read a tutorial is that all walk-throughs are meant for you to understand how things work. My point is that after reading and later practicing a tutorial called 'how to paint a glass duck' you should be able to paint not only a glass duck but also anything else made of glass. You should concentrate on understanding the rules and patterns instead of trying to copy what you see on the image. Otherwise you'll end up knowing how to paint only a few things from only one perspective and one lightning pattern.
